Let’s get to know Kelsey!

Kelsey is redefining what the Head Coach position is in our studio. She is the lead cheerleader both for members and colleague coaches. She is the sunny presence when you walk through the door and is genuinely interested in what you did for the weekend. Her knowledge of the science of exercise and nutrition is comprehensive, as evidenced by her challenging workouts, exercise challenges and informative Facebook posts. She is the rudder of the studio, steering us all to healthier lives!

Kelsey is excited to see alumnae return, meet the new women who come in every day, and build the PRIME Fitness and Nutrition community again. In her outreach with alumnae, she is learning about members’ Covid journeys and how they navigated the past year. She says, “many members are unhappy with the way they let Covid get the best of them - weight gain, not pushing themselves to work out, the feeling of not having a community. Coming back to PRIME has given them the feeling of family again, and given them the power to take back control of their lives. I love that I can be a part of that!”

Though Kelsey’s educational background is in psychology and exercise science, she was driven to becoming a trainer through her involvement all through her life with soccer. Besides the fundamentals of the game, there is no doubt the lessons of teamwork and team building serve her well in her career.

Kelsey lives in Maynard with her middle school sweetheart husband Ricky. They married in a micro wedding last year on September 27th. The big Genetti wedding they had hoped for was rescheduled too many times and they decided to just go for it on her uncle’s farm in Mason, NH. She glows when she says her husband’s name and is quick to tell you all the wonderful things about him. They have a dog named Miya who is a 30 pound rescue from St. Croix via Save a Dog in Sudbury. Miya will certainly come up if you ask Kelsey “what’s new?” Her antics keep her and Ricky very busy and entertained.

There is a scene in the Rocky movies where Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) tells us that “the world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows...nobody is gonna hit hard as life...but it ain’t how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward.” Kelsey shared this with me when I asked if there was a quote or song lyric that was important to her. I could see that despite any challenge she had faced in her life, she indeed takes this quote to heart - she is keeping on her path forward and has brought her optimism and positive style to PRIME.
